Dark Chocolate Oreo Truffles are decadent, rich and topped with festive sprinkles. These Oreo truffles are SO easy and CRAZY good! Perfect for the holidays, these are sure to be a favorite by all!

    Happy Friday!!!

Today I will be sharing a CRAZY good little treat that is SO easy to make and incredibly delicious. Plus, they’re so pretty and perfect for your Christmas cookie tray! Its a win-win.

Say hello to the Dark Chocolate Oreo Truffle. These truffles are rich, and have a decadent, velvety dark chocolate center. They are then dipped in luscious melted dark chocolate for a true dark chocolate treat.

Around here we have been making a lot of Christmas treats, and these dark chocolate Oreo truffles are one of our favorites! Everyone loves these Oreo truffles, and I know you will too!

I’m not going to lie; as much as I am so loving all these Christmas treats, I am excited to refocus on the basics come January. Posting recipes on here takes a LONG time (much longer than you would ever expect), so dinner posts have been a little overlooked. We have made some wonderful meals that I just didn’t have the time to post this month. Come January, I have some fun dinner ideas I just cant wait to share. I’m feeling lots of stir fry’s and healthy-ish one pot meals, including one of our all time favorite Indian dishs; so be on the lookout! In fact I just took the pictures the other day for our favorite Indian dish, and I can’t wait to get them posted!

One of my favorite aspects about blogging, besides sharing all the deliciousness with you all, is the photography aspect. As a photographer, I have so much fun envisioning how I want the ‘scene’ or layout to look. Food photography is not easy, but the challenge to find the perfect lighting and styling is just so much fun! And the possibilities are endless….

Now I just need more props, like rusty silverware and interesting platters. We need to go antique shopping!

So lets get to some of the basics for these delicious dark chocolate Oreo truffles!

    Here’s the rundown:

These Dark chocolate Oreo truffles are so easy, I almost don’t need to do a rundown! But I know some of you enjoy quick little snippets before the recipe, so here it is!

You will take roughly 36 double stuffed Oreos and place them in a food processor or blender. Pulse until fine crumbs.

For this recipe I used double stuffed Oreos, and the result was just so good; but regular Oreos will work as well.

When the Oreo’s are blended, add the cream cheese and blend until the mixture starts to come together. Then drizzle with the melted butter and pulse a few more times until well incorporated.

The mixture may seem moist, this is okay! Using a tablespoon, scoop the mixture out and roll into balls. Place the balls on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, and place them in the freezer for 15 minutes.

While the truffles are in the freezer, melt the dark chocolate bars in a microwave safe dish, and heat for 30 second intervals. Stir between each time. Melt until smooth, being careful not to over heat the chocolate.

Dip the truffles in the dark chocolate, sprinkle with sprinkles, (or roll in cocoa powder), and place them back in the freezer for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.

    Then EAT.

These Oreo truffles do best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

These are so easy and so fun to make with kids! There are so many fun variations you could do with these. You could do melted white chocolate, peppermint white chocolate, or even just roll in cocoa powder!

As always, I can’t wait to hear how these turn out for you!

These are so easy and yummy! I love the different decorations; maybe crushed candy canes! You can also get sprinkles that are yummy, real chocolate on Amazon.
