Here’s a quick rundown..
Fresh Pumpkin Spice Oat Milk Latte Details:
Have you ever had a true pumpkin spice latte using fresh pumpkin puree? If not, then you are truly missing out! Like dessert in a cup, this is honestly the best way to enjoy a true pumpkin spice latte with the most flavorful pumpkin “syrup” ever.
I promise, it’s DELICIOUS.
Ingredients you will need for a Fresh Pumpkin Spice Oat Milk Latte:
- fresh pumpkin puree
- pure maple syrup
- dark brown sugar
- vanilla extract
- pumpkin pie spice
Pumpkin Puree: This will be your pumpkin flavoring base. Use canned organic fresh pumpkin puree or homemade pumpkin puree; just make sure it’s not pumpkin pie filling. The pumpkin adds a wonderful real pumpkin flavor while also creating a little thickness to the latte that is delicious.
Pure Maple Syrup: This will be what sweetens the latte while adding even more delicious fall flavors! Feel free to add more or less depending on your preference. You can also use honey or a combination of the two!
Brown Sugar: The brown sugar adds a deep, sweet, fall flavor that I love; but feel free to opt out of the brown sugar completely and use more maple instead.
Vanilla: Vanilla is always a must! Make sure to use pure vanilla extract, not imitation vanilla. You just can’t beat the real deal!
Pumpkin Pie Spice: Along with the fresh pumpkin puree, the pumpkin pie spice is the heart and soul of the latte. Without it, your latte just wont taste like a pumpkin spice latte! Cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg- these are the spices that create that pumpkin spice flavor we all know and love. Don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand? No problem! You can easily make a homemade mixture with this recipe here.
To make the pumpkin spice base: In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk the oat milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla and fresh pumpkin puree until the mixture is heated through and bubbles begin to appear around the edges of the pan. Remove from the heat.
Foaming the Oat Milk:
As mentioned above, this recipe requires no fancy espresso machine or tools to make, but it’s so much easier if you have a milk frother or immersion blender. If you are unable to use either of these tools, no problem. Simply whisk the warm pumpkin oat mixture by hand until it begins to thicken. It won’t produce the same thick results like a milk frother would, but it will still be delicious fall treat!
Oat Milk: Oat milk only recently became a new milk alternative sensation and I for one am hooked! It’s creamy, foams well like cows milk and tastes even better than traditional milk (in my opinion). However, feel free to use whatever milk you prefer!
When the pumpkin spice base is done warming through, it’s time to foam the mixture.
Pour the warm pumpkin oat milk base into a large bowl. Using a milk frother, froth the milk for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture begins to foam up. If using an immersion blender, blend the milk for 2-3 minutes until it begins to foam up. Alternatively, whisk the mixture by hand vigorously for 2-3 minutes until it begins to thicken and create bubbles.
When the pumpkin spice oat milk has become frothy, carefully pour the mixture into your favorite coffee mug with the freshly brewed coffee, top with a dash of cinnamon and ENJOY!
And that’s it! So simple and so delicious!

- ½ cup strong, fresh brewed coffee of choice, or 2 shots of espresso
- 1 ¼ cup oat milk
- 2 tablespoons fresh pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- cinnamon to sprinkle on top
Instructions
- Brew ½ cup of your favorite coffee, or make two shots of espresso. This recipe is for one latte, so if you may need to brew more coffee if you're making more than one latte!
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk the oat milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla and fresh pumpkin puree until the mixture is heated through and bubbles begin to appear around the edges of the pan. Remove from the heat.

Kaylen,
I tried this recipe this morning and it was delicious!! I put the latte portion of the recipe together last night so all I had to do this morning was brew the coffee and put everything together. It came together very quickly. I ended up having to use an immersion blender to froth because my frother decided to quit this morning. I was so delighted with the results!! Thank you for sharing!!
That makes me so, so happy to hear, Amy!! Thank you so much for giving the recipe a try! 🙂 You just can’t beat a fresh pumpkin spice latte on a chilly autumn day!
Why go to Starbucks if you have these ingredients at home! Must try this one!
